Tuning & Brakes
When it comes to safety, no part of your vehicle is more important than the brakes. They should be inspected at least once a year to determine the condition of the hydraulic system and operating hardware.
At HN Automobile center we have a PRO-CUTON-CAR BRAKE LATHE used for resurfacing brake discs.
Why re-surface discs?
The short answer is to help you offer a better brake service and improve your bottom line.
Some people consider that brake disc skimming is an old-fashioned practice that went out 20 years ago. Not true. Today’s on-car brake lathe technology, where Pro-Cut is the world leader, enables discs to be skimmed quickly, efficiently and with amazing accuracy.
Brake discs should be re-surfaced when:
- Brake pads are changed but new disc are not necessary, which happens in at least 50% of brake servicing. There is no bedding in, and our customers haveperfect brakes as they leave our workshop
- There is evidence of brake vibration due to disc thickness variation (DTV) or excessive run-out. For this problem, Pro-Cut is the only permanent solution.
- Disc are corroded
- Brakes are noisy. This can be corrected by skimming the discs to remove lips and give perfectly flat discs surfaces.
Please note – our customers will be advised to buy new brake discs as they must be replaced when below minimum thickness.
